PA CareerLink® of the Southern Alleghenies is happy to coordinate and collaborate with our many partners across the Commonwealth to provide one-stop services. We work closely with government agencies and other organizations to offer job seekers and employers free services. We provide comprehensive job seeker support through these relationships and funding with free one-on-one career coaching by Career Advisors.

That same level of attention and detail is available for employers, with close collaboration to ensure that organizations are matched with suitable candidates. Partnerships also enable us to provide an array of programs such as On-the-Job Training and Internships to help make the right employer-job seeker match. This month we thank our partners for their collaboration and support to serve the entire region. Because of these partnerships, we provide one-stop service; job seekers come to us first and can connect with any community resource needed, often with a warm handoff.

Partner Spotlight

One partner, the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), closely collaborates with Huntingdon, Fulton, Blair, and Bedford County PA CareerLink® branches. OVR provides services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors, including PA CareerLink®. OVR also works closely with PA CareerLink® to help ensure that all facilities are ADA compliant.

“OVR has been a partner for many years – they are vital to our success as a team and for the job seekers we serve. They are experts in working with individuals with barriers to employment. They are wonderful in working with job seekers with disabilities but also provide support to the team through training and personal development,” says Barbara Covert, PA CareerLink® Site Administrator, PA CareerLink® Huntingdon County.

“It is a pleasure working with OVR. Our similar missions and established processes extend our reach to a diverse population of job seekers. We look forward to a continued partnership that impacts our communities in such an extraordinary way,” says Gwen Fisher, PA CareerLink® Site Administrator, PA CareerLink® Blair, and Bedford Counties.
